dude, i saw that movie [grave of the fireflies]. was really impressed, because it doesn't have those long legged, huge-doe-eyed anime girls (really, how many japanese girls do you know that have eyes and legs like those? i mean, you figure they would base it one something that's remotely realistic, at least...)

was also impressed because it wasn't about huge robots, or super powers or whatever (not that i'm knocking that stuff. i love that stuff...) totally not about action. grave of the dragonflies was about real life. in all it's powerlessness and sadness. perhaps one of the best anime films ever made, in my opinion. certainly the most emotional.
