do you know why i love reading your xanga? it's cause i've known MANY christian girls in my life, and you know what, there are very very very few who have your combination of christianity, intelligence, wit, attitude and humor.

that last 3 almost never comes with christian girls. and yet you have it. you have no idea how rare you are.

and on top of that, i think you're cute. ok, ok, i'm not trying to hit on you. i'm not in love with you or anything. objectively, i think you are attractive. done up or no.

that pic where you are sticking your middle finger out in front of your face CRACKS me up. normally, i would be like, ooOOOooo, how can you DO such a thing? but for some reason, that attutide you have makes me laugh.

i'm sure the guy that finally gets you WILL be one lucky bastard.

i wonder what you are like in real life? are you truly a bad, ass-kicking high heel-wearing girl, or are you a witty, fun, humorous girl to hang around? or both? i'm actually kinda piqued. not that i'll ever get to see.

anyway. i'm feeling thankful for my random, internet acquaintances (you). study hard, and rock your finals. good night.

synaesthetics's Xanga Site

this is perhaps the best description of the JHU library i have ever read: (taken from synaesthetics):

"The Hopkins library is set into the ground, as to better allow the Devil’s acolytes access to their Master. Premed means evil in certain ancient languages. Buildings all over the world go up to the sky, since Babel and its tower, yearning to be closer to God. Ours is an unholy school, set in an unholy town. Baltimore, Babel… cursed places sound alike.

I digress. The floors go lower and lower, and the lower you go, the less sound emission is allowed. M level, the mezzanine, is actually where most Hopkins social interaction occurs. A level is a social sort of study. B, they frown on laughter. C, they frown on chatter. The bottom floor is D level. They frown on happiness.

As you go deeper, lower into the library, you don’t see sky. Ever. People walk out disoriented and confused, dazed by sunlight that seems too bright, as if the sun decided to reverse course. They were in for too long."

ok, so here are my thoughts. feel free to take em or discard them. when i have times when i am feeling down, moody, etc., it's cause i dwell so much on ME.

MEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEME

maybe i am wrong, but is that the case here? when i turn instead, to other ppl, to the troubles that they are going through, showing them a bit of Christ's love, my problems are revealed for what they are.

not to diminish what you are feeling or going through. no matter how small the struggle, i believe that it is not the struggle itself that is so important, but how it is affecting the person. this burden you feel might feel like the weight of the entire world.

but, as i've told you guys before, lay down your heavy burden at the foot of the cross, and take up his.

we try too hard to carry everything ourselves, and why? there is much freedom in the cross.

it's not all about living a scrict, impossible life. there is joy, freedom, and release in it. all we have to do is let go.

it's not about YOU. it's not about ME. there is something more important going on here, and we need to recognize that.

sorry for the long comment. see what happens when you ask for my comments?
